Westlake boys win 5A state title

The Chaps are back.
Eight years after winning the most recent of their four state titles, the Westlake boys golf team won the UIL Class 5A state championship Friday at Jimmy Clay Golf Course.
Westlake opened the tournament Thursday with a 6-under-par 288 for a nine-shot lead over San Antonio Reagan. The Chaparrals came back Friday with a 5-over 293 for a 36-hole total of 1-under 575. Reagan challenged early Friday but finished with a 295 to take second place, 11 shots back of the Chaps.
