Seguin Golf Tourney

I really enjoyed the Seguin tournament. Our team came together and we all played very well. I was really pleased to win the individual title and take the Medalist honor with a 71.

The very next weekend I played well and finished second in the TGJT Lone Star Junior at Star Ranch in Hutto.

I have continued to improve my competitive scoring shooting a one under par 141 (70-71) on the weekend. The highlight of the week was scoring an eagle 3 on the 507 yard par five finishing hole the first day.

The wind was up all week but I putted well and hit a lot of greens.

"Westlake's top-ranked boys squad had another impressive performance at Seguin last week, shooting a 291 to capture the Seguin Invitational Nov 17 at Starke Park Golf Course.

Westlake swept the top four spots in the tournament individually while defeating Seguin by 37 strokes.

Daniel Northington won individual honors with a 71, Paul Otte fired a 72, Michael McCall shot a 73, and Greg Rosson fired a 75. Tripp Ateyeh rounded out the team score with a sixth place score of 79.

The Chaps, ranked first by the Texas Association of Golf Coaches, have won eight of their 10 tournaments this season."

The Bart Grainger Memorial Sep 19-20, 2008

Our Westlake High School golf team won the first tournament of the 2008/2009 school year, the prestigious Bart Granger Memorial Golf Tournament.

The event was held at Pecan Valley Golf Course in Fort Worth Texas. Our team won the tournament by 14 strokes over Highland Park with team scores of 289, 280 and 286 for a team total of 855.

I was pleased that each of my personal scores contributed to our team total for each round. My individual rounds were 75-73-73 for a total of 221.
